I was thinking of cultural references for tractors and my mind fed me Withnail and I, Clarkson's Farm &amp; farmer Jonathan Bell in Camberwick Green; where to go with that combination!? I modelled this design on a 1963 Fordson Major; Fordson was the tractor brand of the Ford Motor Company and the first Major rolled off the production line in 1945. Movie actress Dame Helen Mirren was also born in 1945 and ironically Helen's first appearance on the tellybox was bumping over a field on a Fordson Major in the opening titles of the hit BBC sheepdog trialing show One Man &amp; His Dog. Helen had got that gig as the show's presenter Phil Drabble was a keen amateur sheep shearer and was in awe of Helen who, prior to taking up acting, had been the winner of the sheep shearing World champion's \"Golden Shears\" for four years running. Drabble presented One Man &amp; His Dog for the BBC until 1993 and had amassed a considerable fortune by opening country fairs and promoting a variety of farming and agricultural products however the latter years of his life were spent in relative poverty as he was \"fleeced\" by a conman who persuaded Phil to invest in a fake interior design and wall covering company that had purported to have invented a self hanging, no paste needed, \"flock\" wallpaper.
